Antebellum - my songwriter project

"Antebellum" is the project of the Danish artist Rasmus Fribo. He processes the world and its absurdities through the recognizable frame of songs, sometimes in the largest possible picture, other times in the smallest pauses in existence

There is a tinkle here in the vacuum before the conflict. A strange beauty in the way we ignore the abyss. We do know that everything is going to change. And still, we soldier on, staring with blank eyes right through reality and into a future that no longer exists. And it feels good. Like the sentiment of the fall. The grace of death. The beauty of it. We take our children to school. We make lunch boxes and cut the grass and cry over bills and are paralyzed by anxiety. And we drink coffee with our in-laws and book weekends in theme parks. Maybe we need to make sense of living our everyday lives as if nothing is changing. Maybe that is what hope is. Stubbornly ignoring our own insight.  "Antebellum" is an expression of that sentiment. A reflection on the absurdity of our trivialities in the wake of disaster, be it omnipotent or personal. Because we all long for an apocalypse, and an apocalypse is always at hand..

Antebellum releases songs as drops of hope through the terror of time.
